Three Little Birds for my quilt.

Its September, AKA the best month of the year, AKA the start of back to school season, AKA my birthday month…so its essential that this month’s blocks really sing.  Bob Marley’s smash hit song “Three Little Birds” positively fits that bill.

Julie Hirt says this song inspired her to design this block for Week 6 of her Block Rock’n series.  You can check out the whole series by visiting her at  627 Handworks.  I love this block and that’s why its my choice for the first September block on my Wicked and Wonderful PFMSQ.  Here is my version.

Don’t you just love how those three little birds follow their mama bird….I know, me too. And whatdaya think about those scary skeletons?  They make me happy in a morbidly wonderful way.  And remind me that–Holy OMGoodness Gracie–Halloween is next month already.  Yikes. Time Flies, etc.

Julie Hirt paper pieces these blocks and Wow her blocks are inspiring.  Click here to find the free download link. But if paper piecing is not your thing, I betcha a two-minute search on Pinterest would turn up a tutorial for traditional piecing options.  FYI I am a firm believer in paper-piecing now that I’ve climbed onto that bandwagon, so I encourage you to try it.

Gotta go….Did you do something creative today?

Hi Velda! I haven’t seen a post from you in a while – or maybe I missed it. These are so cute and colorful. Umm, I haven’t been on that band wagon for a number of years. I think I fell off and it rolled over me. ~smile~ Roseanne
