Say Hey to Duncan and Delani…my Deep Sea Divers!

The Deep Dive Quilt Along from Art East Quilting Co. dropped anchor here for month two (2) on October 1. I gotta say I was all a-tingle to meet my Deep Sea Diver, who I was planning to call Scully. But as is often the case, this block had already made up his own mind concerning his name. Sigh…I learned a long time ago never to argue with a stubborn quilt block…the block always knows better than I do. So….

This is Duncan. He’s a big big boy measuring 15″ x 28.5″ finished. I pieced him following the fabulous directions provided by the folks at Art East Quilting Co. There is nothing tricky about him at all. No paper piecing, no appliqué, nothing but traditional stitch and flip piecing. Easy Peasy, lemon squeezy.

This is my other deep sea diver – Delani. She is made from exactly the same pattern as Duncan…except I wanted to make a second quilt using a mix of prints and solids.

Next month we are making an adorable green sea turtle. I’m pretty sure its a girl…stay tuned. LOL

And if you are thinking you need to have your very own Deep Dive Quilt…then click on the link below and off you go. https://arteastquiltingco.com. You can also see what everyone is making by heading over to IG and use the hashtag #deepdivequilt. There is some fine eye candy over there.

Did you do something creative today?

Duncan is very fun! It is so funny when quilted things have strong opinions, isn’t it? The quilt on the bed on my guest room features an octopus named Petunia. She was very insistent that her name is Petunia!
