Put a Heart on It!

Its February and I’m feeling LOVE-ly.  It’s a feeling and its definitely in the air here at my house.  So much so that I was struck with the desire to drop everything and make a Heart Mini Quilt.  And…then just to prove there is no such thing as a coincidence, Kim over at Persimon Dreams challenged everyone participating  in Project Quilting Season 11  to “put a heart on it” this week.  Here’s mine.  I’m calling it “Happy Hearts”.   FYI, I added that tiny light blue piece because even a happy heart can be a bit blue once in a while. And there is nothing wrong with that.

This quilt will be doing double duty as my February “Mini a Month” quilt.

Check out the back of the quilt.  I’m happy to say that once again, I was able to take an orphan block out of the cupboard and turn it into an interesting and tasty looking quilt back.  FYI, I received this Block a couple years ago from one of my Bee Inspired friends. It’s just perfect here.

And before I go, here is a Valentine’s Day thought.

Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off. It takes you by surprise at first but keeps you warm for a long time.

Happy February, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Did you do something creative today?

  1. Love-ly little mini, I like how you made the heart off centre, and who doesn’t love a bit of cake, a great way to use an orphan block.
