November mmmm-mini!

Here is my made in November Mini Quilt.  I’m calling it “Eye See You” because I sometimes/always think its looking back at me, when I look at it. And, its another attempt at Improv piecing for me.

Here is its back story.  I was clicking around on Pinterest in early November, when I found a post from  Whole Circle Studio that showcased some fabulous quilts from QuiltCon 2019.  One that really caught my eye was this one, entitled “Self Portrait”.

2b2dcdae2c07afd11a8bbea2221154c4It was created by Melanie Tuazon, who blogs and shares photos of her work here .  She says her quilt was the result of an improv curve process that she found revelatory and exhilarating.  Well I definitely agree.  Improv piecing/quilting, opens my eyes and blows me away, every single time.  And…virtually every time I try this, I’m surprised by what I find in the results.

“I See You”  is the outcome of my decision to have a go at making a mini quilt n Melanie’s style.  I hope you like it as much as I do.

Love the curves! BTW, I just signed up for a class to make a “gem” with Cindy of abc quilting because your review of the class looked so interesting 🙂

  2. Oh, I love this, and yes, I see the quilt looking back at me too. What a fun project!
