You may be a Quilt Diva…..

You may be a Quilt Diva if:

  • IF have a fabric stash (AKA hoard) that is so huge it needs its own room in your house (did I mention that hubby is renovating a room above the garage for a quilting studio for me…);
  • IF you’d rather be home in your sewing room with all your lovely fabric, than practically anywhere else;
  • IF Layer Cakes, Jelly Rolls, Honey Buns and Turnovers  are names for beautiful pre-cut fabrics, not delicious pastries….(Hubby once asked me why I was buying a layer cake on-line, instead of baking one at home, ….sigh.);
  •  IF you can hear a rattle (or any suspicious/worrisome noise) in your sewing machine with the same amazing accuracy that your hubby can pinpoint a squeak in the driveshaft of his car; …(what is a driveshaft anyway?);
  • IF you harbour thoughts of mayhem towards anyone or anything that gets in your way, when you are planning a trip to your favourite fabric shop;
  • IF you find yourself in your sewing room in the middle of the night, imagining all the beautiful projects you can make with your stash;
  • IF you find yourself in your sewing room in the middle of the night, worrying about all the beautiful projects you will never have enough time to make with your stash;
  • IF you find yourself in your sewing room, anytime, thinking you need more fabric in your stash;
  • IF your happy place is your sewing room;
  • IF you waste spend hours every week visiting online fabric shops, filling and emptying virtual shopping carts;
  • IF you look forward to snow days, because that means you can spend the whole day in your sewing room;
  • IF you cannot wait for the first day of the month to arrive, because that’s when your next BOM, QAL, SAL challenge is posted online;
  • IF you know what the acronyms BOM, QAL, and SAL mean;
  • IF you cannot find your vacuum cleaner because your stash has overflowed into the hall closet; (well lucky you!);

..then you, my friend are well on your way to becoming a RAGING QUILT DIVA.  And, yessiree folks I’m proud to be a card-carrying member of that club.  Here is a photo of the wooden caricature hubby made of his favourite quilt diva to hang on my sewing room wall.  I may possibly love him more than I love my sewing room!

    You just described me! My quilting has now taken over TWO bedrooms in our house. I have to admit I fret about who will inherit my stash – lol 😂

    Hi Velda,
    I think DH is definitely a keeper! I had to chuckle about ordering a layer cake online . . . it would be much more fresh if you just made it in the kitchen today. And quicker to enjoy as well! ~smile~ Roseanne

    Great post. I don’t think I’m a Quilt Diva just yet x
